I love oats, as you may know. I also add protein powder in all my oats. I love oats and protein powder with hot water, steamed cashew milk, and I especially love making overnight oats when I’m prepped ahead!
I have baked my oats which gives them a GREAT crispy top. This is one way I had never made my oats before, and it turned out really well! Whether you have a traditional slow cooker crockpot, a pressure cooker or Instant Pot, this recipe works great!
Ingredients (makes 5-6 servings):
2 cups oats
2 tbsp flaxmeal or flax seeds
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 1/2 scoops vanilla protein powder of your choice
1 tbsp nut butter (I used sunflower butter)
1 tbsp agave nectar (maple syrup or honey works here too of course)
3 medium apples, diced
2 cups unsweetened nut milk (I prefer cashew)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon, ginger, and clove to taste
This literally couldn’t be any easier! I threw that all into my pressure cooker/instant mixer, pressed slow cook and let it go! This will last me the entire week of breakfast – let me know what you think of it!
*Side-note when you’re reheating this, if it starts to dry out just add a splash more of your milk before popping it in the microwave!
(*Remember that’s mostly from the apples which have healthy carbs and natural sugars)
